With 16 skaters, Australia will participate in the world championship.

The Australian team directed by Stephen Haylock and Paul Dodd will be participating in the World Championship with 16 skaters, comprising of some figures with great aspirations to obtain medals.

The senior sprinter, Corey Price is one of stronger ones in the ¨Aussie¨ team with a probable podium finish after excelling in the time trials and 500 meters sprint races, as he did it in Valence d´Agen 2001. Price, will be accompanied by Michael Byrne, Peter Currell, Daniel Finster and Mark Gainsmith.

In senior ladies, there will be Angie Thomas, Kate Pawikowska and Ryanne Shaw who recently ascended to adult category.

Another one of stronger skaters of the oceanic team is youth sprinter Corey Stevens who is a firm candidate in the time trials, 500 and 1000 meters and will form the team with Thomas Baird, Brad Jenkins, Robbie Cook and Gethyn Sharp-Bucknall.
Anna Tilley, Chrystelle Johnston and Sandra Lorincz will be represent Australia in junior ladies category.
