¨Squadra azzurra¨ was left ready to go in search of the World title.

After several days of evaluation by the technical committee of the Italian Federation led by the experienced Giovanni Martignon, the Italian delegation will go in search of the world title.

The evaluations were made in regards to the road circuit events in Sulmona and L´Aquila track. Represented by star skaters like Valentina Belloni, Gregory Duggento, Luca Saggiorato and the Presti brothers, Italy goes in search of the gold medal. Italy has not won any medals since 1999.

For the competitions of track and road, there will be:

Senior Men: Matteo Amabili, Gregorio Duggento, Luca Presti, Massimiliano Presti, Pierdavide Romani, Luca Saggiorato and Francesco Zangarini.

Senior Ladies: Valentina Belloni, Elena Ciavattini, Simona Di Eugenio, Laura Lardani, Erika Zanetti, Cinzia Ponzetti, Nicoletta Falcone, Maria Laura Orru and Alessandra Susmeli.

Junior Men: Andrea Amabili, Simona Bellia, Danilo Bontempo, Marco Falcone, Alessandro Gherardi, Claudio Naselli and Daniele Sciarra.

Junior Ladies: Arianna Arcidiacono, Silvia Arzuffi, Eleonora Biancucci, Silvia Caglio, Desire Contenti, Laura Ghezzi and Elena Pichierri.

In addition, the Italian team will also participate in the marathon, competing against United States and many other countries. For this race, Andrea Bighin, Fabio Francolini and Matteo Poletti (in senior men), Serena Di Francesco, Laura Lombardo, Simona Spinozzi and Giovanna Turchiarelli (in senior ladies), Luca Baldini, Antonio Ballarini, Lorenzo Cassioli and Matteo Orru (in junior men) and Marta Bugarti, Lucia Delle Donne, Elisa Mumeni and Chiara Rossetti (in junior ladies).
