Belgium and Liechtenstein approaches the world championship.

The Organizing Committee of the World Championships has announced that this year, the number of participating countries will again break another record. In Venezuela there had been 39 countries and now the world witness 50 countries in Italy at the most important inline speed skating event in the year.

Belgium has defined its delegation for the championship, which is not many. Its star is the sprinter Wouter Hebbrecht (2004 European Sub-champion) who this year aspires to obtain his first medal. Wouter will be accompanied by Jimmy Pierloot and Ferre Spruyt.

The young medallist, Britta Vantournhout, one of the great entertainers of the marathon circuit will lead the Belgian women’s team, accompanied by the world champion Hilde Goovaerts and the young Jelena Peeters.

In juniors category, only two athletes will represent the combined tricolor: in the ladies, the manifold European Champion Nele Armee will be, perhaps, the strongest in the Belgian team to rise in world´s podium, whereas in the men, Kwinten Anvil (triple European medallist 2004) he will be the representative of Belgium.

On the other hand, Thomas Naf of the Department In line of the Federation of Ice, Hockey and Skating of Liechtenstein, informed PatinCarrera.com in an interview, about the delegation of his country that again, for the third consecutive year will be present at the world skating event. In senior men, Andre Wille and Rolf Hobi represents Belgium, whereas Silvana Gamperli represents the senior ladies category.
