Located in a dreamy place in the valley where the Vella and the Gizio river converge, Sulmona delights all visitors with its history and its spectacular views. Located 66 kilometers from the L’ Aquila city, Sulmona is the principal center of the Peligna Valle.

With 25,000 residents, Sulmona is known as the un-lost Villa (small town). Thousands of tourist flock to Sulmona weekly because of its popularity as a quaint town with friendly and warm residents. Some significant spots include the d´Abruzzo, della Maiella, the Big Sasso Monti della Laga and Sirente-Velino.

The city is 405 meter above sea level, and never fails to impress with its stunning views of the Apeninos with the Big Sasso d´Italia as backdrop of the city.

The Garibaldi Square is the focal meeting point before every large event, like the World Championships, that shakes the city out of its sleepy-town mode. The Skating SISAL EuroCup is held in Sulmona annually. The national parks are not to be missed when one is visiting Sulmona.
