Located
in the Kyonggido Province in the center
of South Korea, the City of Anyang is
mighty and modern city of more than
600,000 inhabitants who are part of
the urban conglomerate of Seoul. Anyang
is located about 25 kilometers to the
south of the center of the Korean capital.
Anyang has a size
of 58,51 km2 and it is located in
a colorful valley surrounded by the
mountains of Kwanakm Suri and Cheongge
at the same time that the downtown
is crossed by the Samseon, Haggi and
Suam Rivers conformed a truly beautiful
landscape where the inhabitants can
enjoy the permanent contact with the
nature.
The economy of the
city is based mainly on the electronic,
chemical, textile industries, communications
and machineries.
About the history, the region goes
back to the prehistory when the humans
began to arrive at the Peninsula of
Korea. During the different reigns
the city was having diverse names
like Gwaju and Gwcheongun until finally
in 1941 took the present name of Anyang.
In 1973 was considered a City.
