World Championships in Italy in 2004
set a new participation record for
Inline Speed Skating with 43 countries
from the five continents participating.
Colombia’s
team was back in top form and easily
won the overall title with Italy
and the United States finishing
second and third respectively.
South Korea
was a surprise and obtained thirteen
medals in its best ever performance,
whereas Venezuela returned to the
medal table with one silver and
one bronze medals.
